Pine Flats Campground

Campground was clean. Not too many trees so if you want plenty of shade I would recommend bringing a canopy. There are Campground host on site. You can make a reservation for campsite online or there are some sites avaliable for first come first serve as well. River nearby with a small "sandy beach". River water was super cold. The hot spring water temperature is not consistent near the river.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds in the area, and sites are actually much easier to get than at Redfish Lake 🙂.
The location is in the middle of a rugged and incredibly scenic section of the Payette River middle fork, on the Banks Lowman road. And there's hot springs nearby!
It's paved and an easy distance from Boise, so not very quiet, with generators running at any time, sometimes.
The hot springs down by the river are small and usually not very busy. Be very careful with the cold water and strong currents in the Payette. It is not suitable for little kids.
Two non-smelly pit toilets and two manual water pumps provide services.

A beautiful stay for our 31st anniversary. Spent just one night but we'll never forget. Thank you. The door on the line restroom is broken, think the Forest service could fix that.

It's up a little higher and was a bit warm for the first part of the night in July. There are trees but there's an open feel at the camp ground. It has a couple outhouses. There are no water hookups for trailers but there is a water pump you can get fresh water at to use. There's a trail down to some hot springs... About a half mile maybe. There's a little waterfall that's warm and some pools to soak in but they are fairly small. The hot springs up at kirkham Hot springs were a nice spot to mix the river water and the warmth of the hot springs. We spent most of a day up there. The mountain views are great along the road.

Nice area, plenty space between camp sites. Bathrooms pretty clean, picnic table and metal fire pit (you can have a fire in this particular camping area). Best part the little pools of the hot springs, right next to the river. Only 10 minutes walk from our camp.
