Park

“I have driven passed The Grove for years and didn't even realize it! It a great place to enjoy the outdoors and learn about the historical importance it has. The paths were a bit wet and muddy. It was a fluke of good weather in February, the pond was still frozen. Nonetheless, we grabbed the tours and enjoyed learning about the people and place. The house library is incredible. I loved that they have school field trips and teach the kids skills. Fun day.”

“The Grove is a National Treasure. More highly cannot be spoken of the work being done at Kennicott's Grove! There's a beautiful trail, amazing animal exhibits, and historical scenes and buildings perfectly preserved. There's events for kids, a unique gift shop, and its a rare chance to interact with history on a personal level. Maybe my favorite place”

Beck Lake Off-Leash Dog Area

Address: 9700 Gloria Ct, Glenview, IL 60025, USA

Park

“The off-leash area is great to get exercise and exploring time with your dog. The forest preserve offers free poop bags and water so the membership fee is well worth it. The best thing to do is go online to register because you can't do so at this entrance where it is locked and members only have access. There is an area that's open to the public but your dogs have to stay on leash and there isn't as many nice trails for dogs to walk through without getting really muddy.”

A fair amount of people were there on a beautiful Thursday afternoon but it's big enough that it didn't feel crowded. Will visit again and again.”
