“We arrived around lunch on a Monday. It wasn’t too busy and we were seated immediately. We came solely for the pizza. Between our table we had a thin crust and a deep dish. Overall it was delicious! My husband raved about the thin crust pizza. Our server was very professional and attentive to our needs! My only complaint is that the server dished up my first piece of pizza ruining my chance at a good photo 😂 Overall we were super impressed!!!”

If you aren't familiar with the cuisine, I'd recommend going with a group of friends who are adventurous eaters. The food is easy to share with others especially if you order small plates and appetizers along with the big dishes. The way our meal was served was in increments - bringing one dish out at a time, and I think that was a clever way of introducing the flavors. I would highly recommend ordering the Amok Trei (fish) it is flavoured in a coconut based sauce and is absolutely mouth watering. If you have a seafood allergy I would double check before going. I believe a lot of the dishes contain fish, fish sauce, or fish or shrimp paste.”

“ra Shai Ma-Sei! Asahi is a great Japanese restaurant located in the Palatine area. We ordered: Chicken katsu -- Breaded chicken breast, deep fried and served with tonkatsu sauce. Really good portions Rainbow roll -- California, 5 pieces of fresh fish, which looked to be salmon, tuna, white tuna, shrimp, and yellow tail Spider roll -- Whole soft shell crab, cucumber, avocado, sweet sauce. These always come out thicker, and it was delicious! They also have bento boxes to check out, which was a hard choice to not get. Service was great! Dining area is somewhat tiny... a few booths, a couple of tables, and few seats at the sushi bar, by the chefs. Overall, great food and experience!”

“It is peaceful, clean & quiet. The owner & his wife are really nice people. The owner cleans the rooms himself, they don't hire outside help. It actually is nicer BECAUSE they do the cleaning . The ONLY thing you might not like is if you are a person that NEEDS that morning coffee either in your room or at the office/front desk. There is none BUT THERE ARE PLENTY OF PLACES NEARBY TO GET YOUR MORNING CUP OF JOE! I stayed there 6 months and had a very nice stay! Thank You Dan for that ! It is a cute little ma & pa place, something you would see in Wisconsin or the country. It is 1 floor high with I think 18 rooms all in a row & parking right in front of your door! GO & ENJOY. I promise you'll have a pleasant stay, TELL DAN JAYMEE SENT YOU!!!! 😬”
