Visited the winter light show at the Morton Arboretum. A superb show that takes about 1 hour to walk round . The pathway is very easy to follow and well laid out with hot drink booths (payable locally) and fire pits so you can get warmed as you walk around. Booking in advance is essential as this event is so popular. There is a large shop with both regular and seasonal items. Plenty of helpful staff and very friendly volunteers.

The Morton Arboretum is one of my favorite places to go for a walk in the woods. Even though I've been there countless times I still have yet to cover the full extent of their trail network. I can definitely see the overall experience being on the pricier side with admission and food combined, but membership at the Chicago Botanic Garden grants free admission if that option is available to you.

    A beautiful place to be.
The Morton Arboretum is hands down one of my favorite places to be. There are lots of trails, gardens, events, playgrounds and a great collection of plants to look at. My most previous visit was in December 2018 during their "Illuminations" event in which they light up the trees with different colors, have interactive displays, and music. They also have fire pits and concession stands to warm you up as well as get a bite to eat, get something to drink, or to buy souvenirs (I purchased some light-up gloves and they are awesome). It was like walking in a dream! Price (On a normal day) is pretty reasonable given the size of the place, location and their mission to study and protect plant species. Admission is $15 per adult (ages 18-64), $13 per senior (65+), $10 per child (ages 2-17) and Free for children under 2. The price is discounted by a few dollars on Wednesdays, and the parking is free with admission. Also the food at the Ginkgo Restaurant and Cafe is delicious, and decently priced as well as the gift shop which has lots of great merchandise and books. Overall, this place is beautiful, family-friendly, environmentally friendly, and great all year round!

I went when they had holiday lights being displayed. I've also been one other time outside of the holiday season. Outside of holiday season: still a nice place to go for a walk. They have some random massive troll statues that are pretty fun to look for. During holiday season: they have a specific area in which they decorate the trees with lights and have lights being projected onto the trees to create an entertaining experience.

The entire family went for the Illumination at Morton, and we loved it. The lights and the ambience was just so magical and beautiful. The wait was a little long, but very organized. Parking was far, but they provided shuttle buses. Everyone had fun and enjoyed the holiday music and hot chocolate. Would definitely recommend it and will definitely come back next year.
