“I was referred to the DuPage medical weight management office in Oakbrook IL by a girlfriend who had lost over 60 lbs. Her doctor was no longer accepting new patients so I met Dr Pua. At the first meeting, he told me to clear out my brain of everything I had ever learned or tried for weight loss. He said that the addiction to food was no different than alcoholism or drugs because we receive the same high and when we have to have chocolate or pizza or any other high carbo high sugar food, we have taken midnight rides to a 24 hour store to get it. Dr Pua put me on a medication and did a complete blood work. He gave me a list of YouTube shows to watch and articles to read. I’ve been seeing him over 2 years, have lost 40 lbs (I’m only 5 ft) and would like to lose another 10. Dr Pua is never too busy not to return my calls and is my biggest cheerleader. I don’t plan to ever stop seeing him because he is my biggest support. I’m at my thinnest in years and fit into small sizes instead of XL. Do yourself a life saving step and make an appointment!
