“I came here to run the Fox Valley Winter Tour 5K and this is a really cool little forest preserve area. While I do enjoy the forest preserve hideaways of the Southwest suburbs (which are apparently the most popular preserves), I really like this one because it's huge and has a ton of cool little things inside of it. It's got a live snake that you can check out, some toys for the kids, and I am pretty sure there are some wildlife education classes and whatnot that you and/or kids can take. The facility is really clean too. Nice bathrooms and not a speck of any mess anywhere in them.”

“Pocket park that is close to schools in the west residential areas of South Elgin. Small playground area and gazebo for "hanging out". South Elgins's west side fire department is near by and Randall Rd shopping is a short walk east of the park. Small parking lot is safe and kept up.”

“One of my favorite places to run and walk with my family. Lovely bridge and river view, quiet path. It's near the road but mostly you don't see the cars. Off leash dog park is right at the mouth of this park and my kids love seeing all the dogs.”

“My dog and I went here on a nice sunny day. Pottawatomie Park is very big and has numerous activities available. It is mid-October, so certain things are closed down until spring or sometime later: mini-golf, paddle boat cruises, refreshment stand are some of them. The park remains very well-kept and attractive. We saw a beautiful sunset over the Fox River. Many trees and other nature items are well-labeled. There are ball fields, tennis courts and a very large community center. Across the river is a large forest preserve. All in all, a great place to spend a few hours or a day!”

“This is my favorite park to take my toddler. There is a walking path to take the stroller and lots of green space to run around. The park area is especially notable because the ground is covered with a big rubber mat instead of rocks or wood chips which makes it easier for little ones to walk around on. Each year we like to see the new sculptures that are put on display. The gazebo is a nice place for shade and there are three water fountains for hot days. There is also a bathroom just in case it's needed.”
