“Great for trails but lake county should add at least some out houses so you can release yourself. They also keep forgetting it's a park. Not just a marina. If it wasn't for the Eagle nest across the river everyone wants to see. It would loose a star”

“Great place for a walk or a run, few different walking configurations to keep you from getting into the same routine. Very nice view from the top of the hill overlooking the fox river”

“The paths are well maintained. There are nice shaded spots and others in the sun. There is a mix of grass and dirt paths. The longest loop is about 2 miles, but it's nice how the paths connect to Hickory Nut across the street for more mileage. The only downside is that it's buggier than most forest preserves in the area. ”

“Beautiful site with views of lake/boat dock a distance off the hike path. I walked the "hike the trail" that took you through a savanna & two boardwalk bridges over low lands. Bridges are very well built & excellent condition. Beautiful wild flowers on the 1st day of fall. Peaceful walk.”

“The village has upgraded the facility as well as removed the old farm house. There is an annual event in the Autumn that is nice. Get there early if you attend the Barn Stomp autumn event, since food stops about an hour before the event ends. There are permanent Corn Hole games in the back, and paths for walking as well as observation sites for bird watching. Handicapped access and parking available.”

“Grassy Lake Forest Preserve is a great place for 2 or 4 mile hike. It's a in and out trail but it's still nice.”

“This is a very cool treehouse located within citizens park. It's a newer facility and is well taken care of. This structure is typically closed but can be rented out for events such as parties. It's a very cool building and I wish it was more open to the public. As I said though, it's very well taken care of”

“This is a great park that has so many nice features. They have a nice playground for children, there are tennis courts, I do know for sure that they have a restroom by the tennis courts which is also a short distance from The tree house that is available for rental. We were there for a rental at the pepper tree house. It is handicap accessible but notes that if you have someone with a wheelchair or a walker there is a small distance that they will have to go just to get to the ramp from the parking lot and then the long Low-grade ramp up to the location. We had a christening there over the weekend. We had a private rental and they do put up a sign. However I wish the sign said closed due to private event instead of just closed. People saw that we were there and assume because people were up at the tree house that they were allowed to go up there also. Note that the Treehouse portion is open on top. It is in the trees and there are branches for the sides and the open Roofing and there are picnic tables available. But this will not shelter you during rain or late afternoon sun. It was 90 degrees in mid-september and the sun came beaming through and we were all quite hot. There was also a fully covered rustic style room that we had also rented that was up on that level in order to serve people food. Tables and chairs are provided there is a garbage can, however one of our guests ended up sleeping all the dead leaves off of The Treehouse area and this enclosure to make it look nice. There was no wind or fans so just plan accordingly that if it's going to be a hot day there is no air conditioning here either. Otherwise we did enjoy the venue and has some really nice views and there are several biking hiking trails to take while you're there also. We did have some elderly and handicapped people with us so besides the slight walk and incline to the treehouse it is also a short walk over to the bathrooms which are next to the tennis courts. We were aware of this so we planned accordingly by having people go to the bathroom first and then parking closer to the tree house so they didn't have to walk back and forth and that seemed to work out good.”
