“This was a best kept secret until last year. :) Now the splash pad can get very crowded during pre-nap hours. There's also a sand pit on the other side of the parking lot with dinosaur bones to dig for. Fun, but bring bug spray.”

“Nice. Crushed limestone path. Not much shade. Fairly level. Bathrooms (outhouse style) near the parking lot. Dogs allowed on leash. Some benches located around the path. It's roughly a 3 mile circular path. Depending on the season you can see Sun Lake. But, it's a glacial lake with a fragile ecosystem so you won't get too close to it.”

“I went fishing here. Lots of good bass. They jump right out of the water to get spinner bait. Very nice fishing spot.”

“Nice spot for a walk and well taken care of by the forestry Dept. Dog cleanup bags, trash bins, and bathrooms are available. good playground for kids. There are two loops, a 2 mile paved walk around the lake and a 1 mile walk that is sand/gravel. Both are very easy to walk. I was here in the winter but I can imagine it's a great place to see wildlife during warmer weather.”

“I like the fact that they added a little bike lane (though it's honestly completely useless), considering how Lindenhurst and the surrounding areas aren't bike-friendly. There isn't too much to do at this park, it always seems empty. They did replace the raggedy tennis courts with something for kids which is nice. Soccer and baseball games are a big thing here, but otherwise it's empty.”

“Nice quiet place to go for a walk. The trails are separated into several loops or the loops can be combined for a walk of about 4 miles. Pit toilets. Maps can be found throughout the trails, and doggy bag and can station available. Paths are wide and easy to follow.”

“Beautiful park with wonderful views of Cedar Lake. I took off 2 stars because the police will hound you for simply driving through. This park is only for residents of Lake Villa proper. So if your address has 5 digits, you are not welcome here and they make that abundantly clear.”

“A nice example of a complete farmstead. It's nice that they preserved it rather than simply razing the structures to create a bigger subdivision. Farms like this used to be the norm in Lake County.”

“Great park for kids to run around. They have grills you can use. Bring your own charcoal.”
Address: 21201 Grand Ave, Lake Villa, IL 60046, USA
“Lots of land for dogs to roam, bathrooms for the humans, and plenty of trash cans. Nice sand bottom stream as well. Well worth the permit fee. Some owners do need to pick up after their dogs a bit better but the LCFPD does it's best to keep it clean.”

“Nice 2.5 mile loop (actually 2 interconnected loops) walking path. Crushed gravel with woods and prairie views. Some rolling terrain and bridges. About 50% is shaded. Bring bug spray as the mosquitoes are relentless. They have an outhouse-style bathroom and picnic tables by the parking lot.”

“Lots of fun to have with the family. There's a 1/2 mile track to walk or run, soccer field, Basketball court, volleyball, and a nice park for little kids. It's all in a nice neighborhood with friendly families. There is even public restroom and covered seating. It's my favorite park in the area!”
Address: 19808 W Grand Ave, Lake Villa, IL 60046, USA
“Great park. Trails were good. Even after heavy rains. I go to this park in summer and winter (winter = cold day, and summer = warm or hot day -jk). And the park is changing so much throughout summer that I can go there and see something new. Park is always better than you expect next time you go. Try to go at dusk and you will see all kinds of beautiful animals, birds.”

“Dog park is great, just beware of other lazy dog owners that don't watch there aggressive dogs BE AWARE. you will also need a car permit to park or you will be ticketed. Watch for lazy dog owners that don't pick up poop as well overall nice place.”

“My daughter will be 3 in a few months and this park was perfect for her. It had 2 sufferer parts one for ages 2-5 he the other 5 and up. But she could do things on both and had a blast. It also felt very sturdy. I live on the other side of the neighborhood and decided to go there because the park by me on silver oaks isn't great. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that there is no parking lot. You have to park on the side of the road and people constantly fly through there and having to take a toddler out on the side of a busy road isn't the greatest idea and I feel there is plenty of space for a parking lot.”

“The Millennium Trail is part of the Lake County Forest Preserve District. According to them, The Millennium Trail currently spans just over 30 miles in two disconnected segments, but there are plans to extend it to 35 miles and connect it to the Des Plaines River Trail. The trail goes through forest, farmland, and the suburban neighborhoods of Lake County with a range of surfaces, including crushed stone, asphalt, and concrete. The trail is well marked with Millennium Trail signs, and the route is intertwined with other trails.”
