I visited the dispensary 4 times and every time was greeted with a smile and a helpful attitude. Today I made a final purchase before leaving Illinois and was helped by Jiyja who was, like everyone working there, nice and very helpful. The dispensary is very clean and with well organized display cases. They accept cash only but have a handy ATM in the store. Definitely made my visit to this part of Illinois a treat. “We were actually looking for another store which seemed to be non-existent - not even the address! I can never pass up a Botanica - I am fascinated by the goods. The sign said open, but the door was locked. As I started walking away, the owner opened the door. I don't think he spoke much English and my Spanish is limited to a few words. He was watching TV and pretty much ignored us, which was fine with me because I like to look around. The prices were much higher than the two Botanicas I have frequented in Chicago - in Pilsen and on Division Street. It was still fun to browse the large selection of intriguing items and there were two incredible shrines.”

“I am really thrilled with the results of our pest control treatment!!! We live near a lake and the mosquitoes have been really horrendous, by 6:00pm I am usually covered in big spray and I have to plug in a fan on the deck just keep them at bay. We decided this year to give the spray treatments a chance, I have to say I am really glad we did- sat out the first night on our deck till 9 pm with no bug spray and didn’t get bit. Thought well, that is the first night, we will see how it goes. I am really happy to say it’s been two weeks and we are still 95% pest free, and in our area, that is saying something!! If you have been skeptical, I get it, but give it a try because it has really made a difference for us!!!! I am looking forward to a bug free back yard for the rest of the summer!! :-D”

I don’t feel like $40 is excessive for such a beautiful, delicious cake that can easily serve over 12 people. I am usually upset when places charge a “credit card fee” but I don’t really mind at La Luz because I feel like the cakes are a great value. The fee at La Luz is 2.6%.”
