Staff is amazing. I have never been somewhere where they actually listen to you and allow you to take part in deciding your treatment. Staff treats you like an adult and not a child or criminal. It's sadall treatment centers aren't ran like this.
Great environment and ideal dual diagnosis center. I spent 90 days at Lincoln and highly recommend staying 90 because of long term benefits to recovery. The majority of staff is in recovery and all staff are empathetic and supportive. Key parts to my recovery and growth were having a bedroom to myself which is uncommon in recovery centers. I had space and privacy outside of group sessions and activities. Having a provider onsite allowed me to take new medications and see what worked best for me and allowed me to find exactly what I need to be successful outside of treatment. Walmart delivery for all sorts of approved items twice a week was perfect and better than amazon. Also having your personal devices like phones and computers at all times. Overall great experience!
I write this in the midst of my stay here, so it’s a real-time review.
This place is welcoming, comfortable, and caring- every single patient/client that I have spoken to here feels the same. Everyone that is here to recover comes through the doors on their own- it’s not some dumping ground for the court system or for people who have been otherwise committed against their will and don’t want to be here. It seems to me that everyone staying here appreciates the opportunity and wants to put in the work to get better.
I am stunned by how many clients are literally begging to extend their stay. It seems that more than half of the patients decide to stay longer than they originally planned. Clients that stay just for 30 days generally leave because of insurance constraints or because they need to go home for good reasons. I haven’t seen anyone leave before completing at least 30 days since I have been here, and we could all leave anytime we want.
Lincoln Recovery’s facility is clean, well maintained, and welcoming. The group rooms are spacious and filled with nice furniture, artwork, and inspirational messages. The indoor pool, stocked fish pond on the property, rec room, and especially the gym are all nice features not typically found in most institutional settings.
Many of us have been in filthy, scary, chaotic, and unnecessarily restrictive recovery centers on our journey- thankfully this place is the opposite of that. Electronics are allowed, you get your own room (it’s a former hotel so it’s a hotel room), there are no roommates, you get your own bathroom and shower, the beds are queen sized with nice linens and housekeeping, and you even have your own TV in your room. On Sundays here the staff takes us on optional fun or cultural outings, often to venues that serve alcohol so that we can learn to be comfortable in those environments while abstaining.
Ultimately, though, recovery centers are best judged on their staffs. Here at Lincoln Recovery I can sincerely say that every single person who works here wants to save my life and see me find success and happiness. I thank every janitor, housekeeper, maintenance worker, chef, BHT, counselor, nurse, and provider for what they do every time I have the opportunity.
I arrived at Lincoln Recovery a broken man. I had developed a drinking problem that I could not conquer on my own, and I had to reach out to professionals for support.
The term "professional" is an understatement for the Lincoln Recovery staff and does not do them justice. The staff always treated with love and respect throughout the course of my treatment. As this was my first time in recovery, I didn’t know how much being treated like an adult rather than a prisoner truly means. That is until I heard some of the horror stories other patients had from previous facilities. Lincoln Recovery has their head on straight and their priorities in order. Their staff was always willing to lend an ear when I needed to talk, to provide council when my path was covered in fog, and to give a hug when I needed support. Their team of Therapists provide a wealth of experience and a variety of therapy styles. Each patient is unique, and this allowed them to ensure that they have something that would speak to everyone. Some, such as myself, found the Yoga and Mindful Meditation sessions to be extremely helpful. Others found the lively group therapy sessions to be what helped them the most. There was something for everyone, and the Executive Director was always willing to accept advise on what else they could be doing to support me and my peers.
The food provided… Cannot be described with sufficient glory to fully encapsulate its divine splendor. The Kitchen Staff knows their way around seasoning, flavor, and variety. I had to rapidly develop willpower just to prevent myself from returning home 20 pounds heavier than I arrived. Jokes aside, I don’t believe I’ve ever eaten this well for such an extent of time before in my life. Leaving these gourmet meals behind was one of the hardest decisions of my life.
The facility itself was immaculate, far larger and more accommodating than I had pictured in my mind. It felt more like I was staying in a 4 star resort rather than a recovery center. The lake, the pool, the pool table, the exercise equipment… all played a pivotal role in my recovery. The group outings were a blast, and helped prepare me for reintegration in to the real world.
Lincoln Recovery provided me with knowledge and understanding of my addiction as well as the tools to combat it going forward. I have a greater understanding of myself than I have ever experienced before in my life. They helped restore my sense of pride and self-worth. Sometimes we need help, and Lincoln Recovery knows how to provide it.
