“For an angler seeking a welcoming spot with fantastic fishing, Indian Grove Campground near Coffeen, Illinois, is a true hidden gem. My recent stay was highlighted by the exceptional bait shop located right on-site. It’s well-stocked with everything you could need, and the owner is incredibly friendly and full of helpful local tips, making you feel like a regular from the moment you arrive. The real draw, however, is the fishing on Coffeen Lake. I had an absolute blast out on the water. The bass fishing was particularly noteworthy, with several nice-sized largemouth putting up a good fight. Crappie were also plentiful and of a good size, making for some delicious dinners. For those who enjoy targeting bigger game, the catfish in Coffeen Lake are impressive – I landed a couple of hefty ones that really tested my gear. Adding to the unique atmosphere is the view of the now-decommissioned Coffeen power plant across the lake. While no longer operational, it stands as a cool and interesting landmark, especially when viewed from a boat at sunrise or sunset. The campground itself offers convenient access to the lake, and the combination of great facilities, a top-notch bait shop, friendly management, and incredible fishing action makes Indian Grove Campground a destination I’ll be returning to. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing and rewarding fishing getaway.”

“I came to Trophy Time Outdoors for my first hunt ever and it was an excellent experience to say the least. We were a group of 5 and Josh was extremely accommodating. Our guide Chad was absolutely GREAT and watching his dogs work was really something to see. The land we hunted was top quality and the Birds we got were gorgeous. I cannot speak highly enough for my experience with Trophy Time Outdoors and I will be back, hopefully multiple times a year.”

“We went on a Thursday, so there was literally no one there. We ate at the picnic table and enjoyed the views. I don't know much about the lake (size, depth, etc), but it is beautiful. They even have a beach. There is camping (campers or cabins). I bet this place comes to life Friday afternoon....”

“If you have young kids or no kids this is an awesome place. But my teens were frustrated because they have to be 18 to use game room, pool, paddle boats etc and having a young baby too I couldn't do all the things they wanted. The camp ground was very strict about the rules. My husband did like the fishing and kids love the jump pillow.”

“It's a short walking trail but the sights are beautiful. Pitck up a brochure at the trailhead to learn about fauna and flora, especially birds and nature conservation. Be sure to stop at the lake to relax.”
