Very well done grounds and visitor center. Exhibits are very good. Go on one of the guided tours, its well worth the time to hear the insights the guides provide. Its an amazing place that no one hears about. In its day (900-1200) it would have dwarfed London or Paris. Amazing.

Spectacular piece of history, preserved and presented beautifully. Everyone is masked up, safe environment. I guarantee you will learn something you didn't know before you visited! Let me know if you figure out what happened to the civilization that lived here!

One of the most important and interesting Native American historic sites in North America. If you've never been here or heard of it it is worth the trip! At its peak Cahokia had 10 - 20,000 residents and was larger than London 10 centuries ago. So much of what we know about Midwestern archeology comes from this one site.

A fantastic modern museum, large and packed with great displays and lots of information. There are interactive displays for the children and it’s a real visual feast. There is a video shown with info too. The gift shop has good books with more info about the site and the Mississippian people who built and inhabited it. Right outside is are the ancient main mounds and plaza. You should really go hear before seeing the mounds to get a better idea of what exactly you are looking at. The staff are incredibly helpful and nice. The bathrooms are clean and modern.

It is a cool place to go to learn some interesting facts about people that once lived here. But be WARNED the Indian replicas are naked and show off certain body parts. So be careful if you bring children.
