Absolutely the best capture of life in a frontier town over almost 200 years from founding to current day. Fortunate to have been able to collect so many items from that time span. Staff were great. Highly recommend a visit!!
Great collection of pieces giving a window into the past century of history for the area. Definitely will visit again.
This museum is such a beautiful tribute to the heritage of Mascoutah. I had a lovey time learning all about the history of Mascoutah.
The volunteers who work here are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
I can't wait to bring my family back.
Free no ticket required, but donations gladly accepted. Very nice collection of Mascoutah area findings. Worth the time.
For a small town museum, this a really nicely done venture. The folks who volunteer their time are helpful and knowledgeable and want to tell you the story of their town, my favorite display was the horse drawn hearse operated by the town’s undertaker. The family has continued in the business through today, a hallmark of the small town model. Opening times are very limited so check the Mascoutah City page for the day and time to best plan a visit.
