Despite the remote location and small size, the owner is extremely nice and will do his best to find you a great price on what you're looking for. “VFW is clean and nicely decorated. Staff is friendly as are the other patrons. Good size menu with a variety of options. Chicken wings and shrimp were very good as were the mac n cheese and onion rings. There is a locally made hot sauce at the bar that is very good but beware if you are sensitive to heat/spice. Thankfully I was warned in advance so I was able to enjoy it. Would eat here again and recommend to others.”

So I called Phil in the middle of the night and he came to the apartment to fix it for me. The next day, he got me a brand new range. That's how good a landlord he was.
