“Really nice trail!!! We loved the wooden bridges!!! Easy walking on flat gravel trail! Enjoyed seeing many different birds!! Our dog enjoyed the walk!!! It was a little warm the day we went , most of trail in sun just letting visitors know!! The pavilion is very nice, bathrooms great!! Plenty of garbage cans !! ????????”

“This a boat launch for kankakee river with open access (free). Not fancy but fishing boats , jon boats and personal watercraft such as a 16ft alum Lund can be set off from here. Head north towards Wilmington for deep water basin and south towards kankakee for fly fishing and shallow water. Be carful heading south as it gets very shallow, go north to where it opens into a large area, this is up to 12-16ft deep. Beyond this area moving north you should have low draft and trolling motor as bedrock bottom can be just 1.5 feet deep. There is a meandering channel through this part. When you get to next larger open area SLOW AND STOP CAUTION DAM. there are white bouys. here and no way past the DAM”
