“This is the cemetery for the old Joliet Penitentiary and is no longer in use. It replaced the previous cemetery that opened in the 1800's that's located about .75 miles NorthEast. Monkey Hill is well maintained, although access is across a ditch that's often flooded. It's directly across the street from St. Mary's cemetery. It opened in 1936 and was used to inter the unclaimed bodies of inmates. The headstones were manufactured at the old Joliet Penitentiary. Vaults were not used - inmates were buried in pine boxes, and during new burials previously interred would be accidentally exposed. If you're interested in local history or the old Joliet Penitentiary, it's worth a visit.”

“Brady and Brady Jr. arrived on time to unclog our 2nd floor toilet. They were called due to several unsuccessful attempts on our part. It was unclogged in minutes. While doing a couple of "test" flushes they discovered something in the tank was not working properly upon refill. We'd known for some time there was a problem in the tank, but didn't know what part was malfunctioning, and since money is a little short these days, my main concern during their visit was to get the clog removed and deal with the "bad part" at another time. They offered to repair the toilet, but there'd be an extra cost. I had to decline due to our shortage of funds. They went out to their van to write up the bill, but Brady Sr. came back in and asked to look at the toilet again. As it turned out, there was a hose in the way of the arm, and the flap was old and worn out, and not closing. They moved the hose, and replaced the old flap with a new one. The toilet works perfectly again, and I wasn't charged extra for the repair, for which, I am VERY grateful. Both men were personable, friendly, very professional, and worked efficiently. The boss should be proud. I would call them again in a heartbeat. Thank you so very much.”

“This park has a super fun splash pad! I really liked that it's fenced in so it's easier to keep an eye on the kiddos. There are two different playgrounds, one for older kids and one that is better equipped for little kids. My nephew had a wonderful time here, he didn't want to leave!”
