As can probably be gleaned from the reviews, this program is intensive and requires one to dedicate onself fully to learning and living the medicine. Just like a catalytic chamber, the intensive workload creates a milieu where students are forced to face themselves in order to become more coherent healing presences. Like still water with sand at the bottom of the glass, we do not know what resides in the internal terrain to transmute necessarily until perceived turbulence shakes it up. Like flowing water, when one moves with the winds of change without resistance, the Daoist influence of this program can help us grow in unimaginable ways. As I near graduation in my 4th year at this institution, I have come to realize that centering oneself in the heart can pave the way for perception that is hard when seen through the mind filter of past experience that might negativity color a worldview. Daoist Traditions is a beautiful place of heart-centered learning and growth led by knowledgeable practitioners who also walk the path of cultivation. Come to this school if you would like the opportunity to become more of your true self in order to serve as a healing presence for others.

I'm a graduate of the class of 2021 and am quite confident I received one of the highest quality Chinese medical educations offered in the US. The first two years were heavy on herbs, point actions and indications, and Chinese medical theory with some biomed thrown in. Yes, there are a lot of powerpoints in the first two years - that's because you have about 230 formulas, 350 herbs, and over 300 points to memorize information about. The last two years were biomedicine heavy and also included advanced level Chinese medical theory.

My teachers were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about not only the material, but teaching well. It was always evident that faculty and administration cared immensely about the students and the quality of our education. After having graduated, I have had more contact with practitioners around the US who were educated at other institutions, and it has made me realize just how thorough and comprehensive the program at Daoist Traditions is.

I also completed the dual doctoral program while I was enrolled for my masters. The doctoral program definitely had its challenges, but it was also within the first 3 years that the college had even implemented it. By the third year, things were definitely going much more smoothly, higher quality faculty had been recruited across the board, and the classes offered were more streamlined. Some of our advanced faculty included Dr. Randine Lewis, Dr. Evan Rabinowitz, and Dr. Frank Butler, all of whom are esteemed in their fields.

The student body is phenomenal. Despite our education having been interrupted by Covid-19, there was still a level of cohesion between cohorts due to interactions in the student clinic. There is a great level of support here among students.

Speaking of the student clinic, we have no shortage of on-site and off-site clinical opportunities. You will have more hands-on experience here than probably any other school in the country. The supervisors are INCREDIBLE and the off-site opportunities are enriching. We worked in hospice centers, respite facilities, etc. I learned so much in this area of the program and it made me confident in my practice now.

If you enroll in a graduate program here, feel confident you will have no shortage of opportunity to foster meaningful relationships. I graduated with some pretty amazing friends/mentors from every sphere of the college - students, faculty, and administration. I think that says a lot about the quality of people who attend and run the institution.

As for Master Jeffrey Yuen - for some people his teachings resonate, for others they don't. I'm personally one of the people who do not resonate with his lecture style or all of his teachings, however this didn't at all negatively impact my experience or my education and I'm grateful for the exposure. Like with any other teacher, take what you find helpful, leave what you don't.

For everyone who wrote an overall bad review, I hope you will take it with a grain of salt. People often focus more on the negative than the positive, and your experience here will reflect what extreme you tend toward. The subjective experience will be what you make of it, but objectively you will have access to one of the greatest educations possible in the US.

I love having the option of the retail table! I can pop in, get what I need and be on my way…without being a part of the auction.

Fantastic !!!! Herbal Program for those coming to just do herbs. High Quality teachers - very patient and they really care. Administration is on it, very consistent and sharp administration staff. Really enjoyed the program. All of the teachers ad admin I worked with in the Herbal program really really care about us and whether we learned or not. They were always there for you.

Teachers all very helpful in the herbal program. I didn't find the work too hard. Abit time consuming. As long as they keep Ann teaching the main herb section (she really cares about her students and that they understand things), I think everyone will continue to be happy with the external herb program. Ann is a great teacher and person. She is very laid back and understands that everyone needs a different approach. I Loved Peter Sheas, he is so insightful and deep, he seems to be the deep philosophical shaman of the group. Lisa for food therapy and essential oils was wonderful. She's a very understanding and good heart. Such a loving human being. Josh did a great job with his teaching herbal preparation class also. The western medicine teachers were good, though we weren't as interested in those classes, because we were there to learn herbs !. The other classes and teachers were one day things, and it was nice to get a taste of other teaching styles, and other approaches and philosophies towards herbs. They were all really nice to me. Robert who ran the program was wonderful. There was a review class and a couple more online that was a little disorganized and too much busy work, but it was decent and that was that teachers first run of developing the class. Things were minority disorganized with the program but not too bad, and we have to realize this was their first run of their external program. They constantly asked for feedback and asked us how they can make the program even better, consistently through the program. Anything we asked for, they responded to and fixed. I'd support people doing the herb program as long as Ann keeps teaching the main portion. The clinic was wonderful, we had four teachers rotating a day, so we got to study under four teachers approaches to building formulas with clients, so we learned four different approached to putting together formulas. That was a smart way to set things up. !!! I learned so much !!!! I had a GREAT experience with herbs ! Also everyone needs to explore their library and external workshops !!! It's also an excuse to visit Asheville !!! Being a Daoist Student and graduate I now I can use their library forever ! They are there to support you onward.

I see some of the acupuncture students reviews beneath me aren''t that great. I have talked to many of the students of acupuncture, and overall the message has been that the program can be a bit overload with not always enough time to integrate, and some students get frustrated. . They say it can be very stressful emotionally as Chinese medicine can be a spiritual growth process also. Getting a good grip on Chinese Medicine should be a 5 or 6 year program (there are allot of western classes also to take remember), to squeeze it into 3 or 4 years can be allot on anyone. I understand the frustrations of all schools and student. It is allot to integrate, it pushes you personally, and its allot of money.

I did acupuncture at another school that was laid back, but very disorganized. I am told external herb program I did at Daoist has their most loved and laid back teachers. I don't know if this is true or not, but with the teachers I had I would still tell people to go to this acupuncture school. These teachers were excellent and very kind.

I learned the most from watching Jeffery Yuen videos and workshops... I bought his whole serious from AUCM. They have allot of his lectures at Daoist traditions library. I also didn't overload myself and I did the herbs, and acupuncture on separate years and took 5 years to do it all (rather than 3 or 4), while running an online business.
