“Wow, there are some inaccuracies online about this little shop. The photo I see is of Huber's Orchard and Winery on a busy weekend. This place is a farm-to-consumer direct shop housed in a cute little wood cabin, about 2 miles away from Huber's. It almost exclusively sells frozen pastured beef. (There are also some crafted products like wooden cutting boards and knit pot holders.) I like to buy arm roast, ground beef, soup bones, and oxtail. The prices for these products run between $4 and $7 per pound. There are pricier cuts, but I think the highest is around $12. The beef is grown right next store, where you can see the animals grazing on lush green grass when it's available. They are butchered as needed to restock the 6 or 7 enormous freezers in the store. BMQ is only open on weekends. They have Square payment systems, and I've paid with Apple Pay and debit/credit cards. I believe this shop is owned and/or run by a couple of 4-H kids and their adult helpers. They wear masks but haven't been fussy about it with me, which is nice because I can't really wear them. (Masks are a mere placebo anyhow.) I'll try to get some photos this weekend. I think the only thing I would like to see different is the option to buy fresh and unfrozen, at least on the weekend after the beef is done aging or whatever. I'm sure there are customers who would sign up for their cuts in advance and would gladly go on an email list for that purpose. Anyway, my only other option for this kind of food is to order it in the mail and pay ridiculous shipping, or to drive all the way out to Henryville and purchase from Natural Choice Family Farms (another great option if that's closer for you.) I'm just thankful this is local. I do hope BMQ eventually expands to sell grass-fed dairy products, including "pet" milk. I've been purchasing health-giving uncooked milk (some call it raw milk) at $10 a gallon (for the large flock of spoiled, queenly cats I TOTALLY have) for a while and it's tough to drive so far. Hey, if the government is going to legalize a drug that turns normal people into psychotic criminals, why can't they bop Nestle in the eye for once and legalize normal, natural milk - the only food besides fruit that nature produces in a fully ready-to-eat form? But that's off-topic. I recommend this place.”
