“Great little park, usually pretty shaded in the afternoon. Sadly they cut down two trees near the playground that provided shade in the morning and mid-day. Not sure who made that decision, but it clearly was someone who doesn't have kids and never tried to find a shaded playground.”

“Nice trail. Marked well, easy to follow. My little guy loved finding the arrows as we went. Starts on a mowed path and progresses through the forest. My 4 year old hiked it with us, nothing too difficult. Slight inclines in places. Wonderful scenery. Not a lot of parking. Definately take bug spray.”

“Great place to play with the kids! The main play place is not for small kids, though they do have an additional play ground set it specially designed for toddlers. They have an AMAZING toddler swing, that I've never seen any place else! It almost a swinging recliner, with a 5 point safety harness! :) Would highly recommend! The main play ground set, is probably 3 and a half stories tall, with amazing slides, a rock climbing wall, I believe a climbing net, walking posts, and more!”

“At 2:30am I took my companion there and was immediately greeted by BPD. What a waste of tax dollars when citizens aren't at liberty to visit these areas on their own schedule. The elderly, people with health conditions which prohibit them visiting during daylight hours and those with alternate schedules loose the benefits our City Parks present due to closure hours. What a peaceful place Cascades was during my childhood and is now modified and destroyed by not replicating its natural beauty with natives limestone tables walls and benches.... Please take care of our Parks in their natural state...The Merry go round gone, limestone tables walls and benches destroyed. What a shame...”

“Awesome dog park! Huge. 3 big areas for dogs to play. One area specifically has some logs and tunnels for dogs to run through and jump over. Very cool little hidden gem. Nice covers from sun for humans and dogs to sit on picnic tables as well. Free use! Dogs are mostly well behaved and friendly. People are always friendly. Porta potty on sight as well”

“Lovely clean quiet park. It has a neat feature of storyboard stations you can read with children as you walk a flat even sidewalk. It even offers things to talk about and activities associated with asking questions about the story as you read and walk. Nice bug playset in the middle of that and great shelter houses.”

“I would have given it a solid five stars but in the past year, a lot of trees have been removed due to the emerald ash bore. It's still a very pretty camping area! It sits back in the woods and each camp site has a fire ring with adjustable grill top and a picnic table. The sites are decent sized, some bigger. The roads are paved and there is one street light at the east end of the campground. 2 restrooms at the east end and they ate pit toilets...pretty gnarly in warm weather so he your breath! Long, basin type sink outside the main restroom is usable only in spring, summer and fall. The knob is removed in the winter so there is no running water. The area is kept clean and tidy! There is a full playground adjacent to the campground, in other words it's not IN the campground and you cannot see it from the campsites except for 3 of them. The state forest has fantastic trails for all skill levels, 2 small lakes for fishing and beautiful THICK forest. Not nearly as crowded as Brown County or Monroe..but can get full in peak camping and hunting months. Inexpensive at $13 per night ( current as of 2-2018) and ALL campsites are primitive..no electricity or water.”
