“I grew up in Martinsville and, like most children, I loved going to the park. As a teenager, my sisters and I went to the pool nearly everyday. However, when my children were little (15-20 years ago ????), most of the playground equipment had been removed and replaced with something mirroring a fast-food restaurant's cheap kid zone. NOW, the pool looks amazing, and will shortly be ready (woop woop, summertime!!), the playground looks good, there are numerous shelter houses and the walking trail is great!! If you start by the pond, you walk through the wooded area, and all the way to/or past the hill(which has a beautiful gazebo). Ya gotta love that hill!❤ Today, made me feel like a kid again!!!????”

“A hidden secret, rapidly being unveiled. The paved trail is about 2 miles one way, and it does not loop around so be prepared for a trek if you want to go to the end. Many have never realized how beautiful the White River is, but you can see for yourself on this trail. We see more people walking or riding their bikes every time we are there, but it is not crowded. The mural, historic bank, and old town square make this simple little park a very special place in Waverly.”
