“Great dog beach but very limited parking. Be prepared to walk from the parking lot but it’s not much of a walk really. I’ve been to a few dog beaches in Illinois and Indiana around Lake Michigan and this one by far is the cleanest and most expansive. Public bathrooms at parking lot so if you have to go, go before you head to the beach to save yourself a trip.”

“My favorite location to park when visiting the Indians Dunes. I prefer the national lake shore over the state park because in the latter you feel policed and unnecessarily inhibited from enjoying the beach to its fullest. The downside is that you have to watch your kids for yourself though. This is a small parking lot and fills up quickly even during the week. The facilities are clean and the beach is just a 2 minute walk away from the lot.”

“Another wonderful part of Indiana dunes national lakeshore region that has wooded area and grassland in one place, wonderful place to bird during spring migration. Also the nearby calumet river trail is a great place to see migrating warblers in the spring”

“Wonderful beach, it's big, clean and the dunes are fun to climb. This beach can get very crowded so I prefer to visit late in the season or during the week. Holidays, forget about it, way too crowded. I found the crowd to be polite and respectful. Alcohol is prohibited but I saw plenty of discreet drinkers”

“Pretty nice place to park. There is asphalt, you can get your car off the road, there's some shade trees, and there places to park your bikes. There's also a drinking fountain. No restroom facilities, however. All in all not a bad place and all in all pretty close to the trail, as matter fact the trail goes right through it. If this review helps please click like below”

“This trail surprised me with it's beautiful scenery. It is similar to Cowles Bog, but without the beach blowout. The trail is about 3 miles using the long loop and 2 miles using the short loop.”
