“Appalachian Cabin is a fantastic cabin. Sleeps 6 in very large bedrooms. The 2 baths (1 with garden tub) are nice and large for a group. The main living area and kitchen is huge with plenty of room to accommodate guests with no problems. Dishwasher full size refrigerator and stove and microwave are all available for use. Extremely clean, with a setting inside a woods just off the road for easy access. Plenty of dishes, glass ware and stem ware are available. There is nothing wrong with having my coffee in the morning and watching the pilated and downy woodpeckers in the trees. We are talking 10 to 20 of the little buggers, not a couple. The pond is at the bottom of the hill and not a bad hike up or down...the entire cabin and setting is peaceful and tranquil for anyone who wants to get away from home. Not a bad jaunt to Bloomington or Nashville Indiana with many things to keep one occupied. I give this 5 stars, Mary and Bridget together are wonderful to work with when making your reservations. I recommend calling them to make a first time reservation, or if you have specific needs.”

“Owner was great on the phone and explained everything well. Worker met us at meeting spot and told us every we needed to know. We were a little unnerved and first being our first time and would have been nice to have a quick lesson. However once we got in all was fine. We had an awesome time!! Thanks so much... we will be back! The worker picked us up in time and was very informative as to where to eat dinner in town. We were experts by the time we were done and the wife has found a new hobby! Now to get some used kayaks!!”

“Only been there one time and one time convinced me...I love it! Stayed for about 3 days during the bluegrass festival in June. Great friendly environs, fun for the whole family. Plenty of places to camp or RV. They even have some fishing spots for those interested. Would love to go back some time!”

“Absolutely loved our time here! It was a wonderful time with family - we played bags out back (brought our own), had fires at night with s'mores and fire roasted hot dogs, enjoyed the hot tub and the sauna, and oh my gosh, the tire swing! The little ones were tickled pink feeding the goat and donkey... just a wonderful getaway altogether! The owner was easy to reach and kind to deal with. I am really hoping to return this summer.”

“We had a lovely family outing here! The trail was beautiful and even though we had very novice riders, our guide (Ithink it was Jeff himself) kept his patience extremely well. The horses were well behaved other than wanting to munch grass or do their other business, to be expected. I just loved the whole experience and the little ones loved the barn cats!! Full recommendation, great experience!”

They run completely on donations! That's donations of time and money! The person who cuts their grass is even a volunteer. Great story behind this non profit and some really friendly people!”
