“This walmart is the absolute best camping spot ever. The Walmart AP in this store is such a pushover that we lived in their parking lot for 14 months, which saved us over $16,800 in rent. Got the idea from the lady in the green car. She has been there for about 2 years now, so she has saved more then us. Trucks and people park overnight EVERY NIGHT at this store. There are no signs that say no parking overnight. Their employees aren't very bright, which makes for the best camping spot ever. If you want to be left alone, this is the parking lot to live in. We are totally surprised it took their AP manager 14 months to even learn we were there. Unfortunately, walmart has the capacity to kick out only people they don't like, which is discrimination. Other people are still parking overnight, so don't ask them, just do it! Also, this walmart is the teenage hang out (nightlife) for this poor town, so kinda hard to turn away customers. The only people their AP has turned away so far is two older women cause they are soo tough lmao. It was sad to watch them get all tough with my 63 year old mom. This store seems to be better stocked and better prices then other walmarts nearby. This small town hasn't seen any shortages by far. I would of added photos but walmart claims it's "illegal" to record or to take pictures on their "private property " why isn't our food sold in public places? So that walmart gets the right to refuse service to anyone??”

Due to the holiday weekend they were short staffed and very busy. It also appeared there was a new employee still learning the ropes. Never once did she display frustration. “This is definitely our new go to for some amazing pizza. We was very impressed with everything. Got hot and ready pizza at all times. And so many different kinds. Then there is the fried chicken bar. With some few sides. And of course can't forget the salad bar with some many topping choices. And to wash all that down they have a soft serve ice cream machine. Then to top that the arcade area was pretty impressive too.”

“I have never camped here or been to any of the retreats or other official activities. I have had limited interaction with staff at Camp Horizon but all of my interactions have been positive and pleasant. I have hiked there many times and it is one of the best places I've ever hiked. There are bluff trails that are physically demanding. All of the trails are visually pleasing. Sunset views from inspiration point are spectacular! You can see miles of the Walnut River Valley and the Arkansas River Valley. You can also hike all the way to the Arkansas River. One of the most intriguing aspects, apart from the beautiful scenery and wonderful landscape, are the ruins of what was allegedly a scam from back in the mid-20th century when investors were solicited for a concrete plant. There are still ruins or relics if you please down in the river bottom with those concrete structures. The trails are easily followed, meaning they are clear and you are not likely to get lost. There are also trails for mountain biking, but I have never ridden on them. Wide variety of trees and wildflowers during their appropriate seasons. Strongly recommend insect repellent during the season, both for ticks and mosquitoes.”

“On late Tuesday evening like 1130 at night I was traveling thru southern Kansas almost to Oklahoma and my turpentine belt shred and I was stranded on the side of the road. I have AAA BUT THEY WERE USELESS and eventually an officer ended up taking me to motel 6 so the towing company NEXT DOOR could go tow it in the morning. I found Brandon from bearded bros and he is an angel. He agreed to cone out in the mor in and fix it. He is reliable honest, reasonably priced and just an all around great mechanic. The world needs more Brandon's He was so nice and eager to help. If you ever get stuck in his area I urge you to reach out to him for help.”

“The filets and ribeyes are better than any high in steakhouse! Much better than prime at the local stores or Costco. When it’s just the wife and I we splurge and pull these out! For thanksgiving I bought a brisket. The brisket definitely outshined the smoked turkey! I’ve purchased numerous prime briskets from Costco and Creekstone’s prime brisket (not competition grade) beats Costco’s hands down. Costco was #1, they are now #2! Good, but not Creekstone good! I trim pretty heavily and grind the lean brisket for sliders! Brisket sliders the night before thanksgiving blew everyone away! There was definitely less unusable fat on the Creekstone vs past Costco briskets.”

“Click click boom; this place is awesome! So after a 13 Hour Dr. from Ohio, we dropped into this street tacos shop, and it was incredibly satisfying . This little delicious paradise of Mexican food on the southside of Arkansas City. Kansas is well worth a trip. The food is authentic. The family that runs this place is incredibly nice very welcoming, and you couldn’t ask for a better variety of deliciousness. I’ve seen posts of this place and always meant to try it out and I finally got to and I got a Telya. It is so worth it you will love it.”
