(April 9, 2019, 6:27 am)Every kid who grew up in Leavenworth has been to the Carroll Mansion at least once. It is not on the base, as one other review stated, so no you don't have to get clearance before you can go there... It is right by Cushing Hospital near Spruce street, and I always have loved going there. The house is full of very cool period pieces and also awesome stories... I used to wish I could just live there because the house is so beautiful. There's a statue of a dog out front. Ask the museum guide about it.
I highly recommend touring this museum of you're able to. It's a beautiful piece of Leavenworth history.
