I recently cared for my 92 year old mother, following a fall at home, which resulted in a compression fracture of T7.
During her initial visit to an urgent care, she received Hydrocodone for pain and an infusion of Fentanyl. She was discharged and sent home with Hydrocodone.
By day 4, post trauma, she was still unable to keep down food or meds.
I called Heartland, Tuesday, to ask for guidance. It happened to be Dr. Pul’s day off. I Ieft a voicemail, and struggled with what I should do next. About 30 minutes later, that voice mail was answered. I was offered a telehealth conference that afternoon.
Dr. Puls, on her day off, initiated that call. We discussed mom’s delimma, and she came up with a plan of action.
Darcy’s guidance altered my mom’s recovery. Her concern and skillful guidance was so appreciated! We love this internist!!!

She really takes time to listen, answers all my questions, and does not seem rushed at all. She responds to emails through patient portal as well. The only downfall is that it takes approximately two months to get an appointment with her. You can see Nurse Practitioner if you need to get in sooner which is the same as most doctors now.

She is very caring and always listens to what you say
