This gallery and museum is a jewel in the heart of thoroughbred country. Minutes from downtown Lexington, the permanent and rotating exhibits are captivating and imaginative.
Very nice museum! Jewel Room and Shell Grotto are amazing.
A jewel in the heart of scenic Kentucky horse farms, this little museum houses art exhibits and a permanent collection of jewelry and jeweled bibelots designed by George Headley. There are also dollhouses that were in the Whitney family. Not to be missed are the shell grotto and library. The grounds are lovely any time of year, but especially in the spring and fall. I have been visiting for more almost 40 years. It is a must-see in Lexington, in my humble opinion.
Great photography exhibits currently.
The art was all beautifully displayed. No photography is allowed though. Staff were very helpful and wonderful hosts. Highly recommend attending shows.
