My family and I really enjoyed riding on the train. We even rode the Santa train, and it was fun!
It was fantastic! Our two grandsons loved watching out the windows looking for horses. Best dressed Santa that I've ever seen. The boys loved the time they were able to spend with him and we never felt rushed. I recommend going first class!
We had a wonderful time riding the train! Very friendly staff! We enjoyed the scenery and learned a lot about the region. We rode 1st class which was well worth the price! Comfortable seats and a warm ride!
Only had a problem with a woman being supervisor in the men's bathroom when we arrived back to the station.
Took the Pumpkin Patch train ride which runs down to the Kentucky River. You can disembark to view the bridge, canyon, and scenery. Then the train takes you to the Pumpkin patch where there are picture areas, apple cider, and you get to pick your Pumpkin (for a fee). There are 3 options for riding, coach, first class, or hobo style. Took the first class (hobo was sold out) which was nice with comfy seats and A/C. Nice 2 hour trip seeing Kentucky countryside with cows, horses, and farm fields. Found the ride relaxing. First class was $22 for adults and definitely worth doing at least once. There is a railroad museum to tour. Did not see that section, this time.
Nice place, people were nice and helpful. A small food vendor would be a good add on. No complaints.
