Had a super tour and nice lunch today with Jennifer Birkland, Community Relations Director. The facility and the amenities are outstanding. It would be hard to suggest any possible improvements.
I found Jennifer to be an excellent representative for Merrill Gardens. Her knowledge of the property and her warm and friendly personality made the tour even better for me. She is an excellent ambassador for Merrill Gardens.

I first inquired about Merrill Gardens in September 2021 for my mother. Crystal Hovar is the perfect sales agent! She understands the needs of current and prospective residents. She answered our questions promptly, would seek out answers she didn't have at the moment and quickly get back to me. Now that my mother has moved in, Crystal continues to possess a listening ear for the needs of the residents. She's always so cheerful, professional, helpful, knowledgeable and goes above and beyond!

The move-in check-in with Lydia was a bit lengthy. She's nice but not as warm and fuzzy as I would expect from a Director.

BJ, Brenda, James and Danielle are all kind and diligent. Kudos to the chef and the restaurant staff who are quick to serve with anytime dining. The food is delicious!

There are many opportunities for residents to stay active and interact (Trinh is great!). Some of the highlights are: having a full size kitchen (although there should be a microwave in each apartment), a washer and dryer included, a weekly cleaning service (although it hasn't started yet), transportation to shopping/doctor appointments, attractive interior and beautiful views.

As with anything new, there are a few hick-ups and bumps, but all-in-all, we are happy with MG. Looking forward to it getting even better with time and experience.

Delighted to work with Crystal, Sales Rep, who does her best to answer my questions and inquiries. I have lived in senior CCRCs and communities in the Sacramento area. I'm confident Merrill Gardens will be a lovely senior community facility for independent, assisted living, and memory care residents.

My husband and I are anxiously awaiting the opening of Merrill Gardens in Brentwood. My husband will have an apartment in memory care, and I will be near him in an apartment in independent living. Making the decision to move into a senior care facility was emotional, but once the decision was made, we wanted to move right away. But, as I have told my husband at least 10 times per day, “we can’t move until it’s finished being built.” And 2021 has had its challenges for any construction project due to ramifications of the pandemic.
Crystal Hovar, the Community Relations Director/Sales Rep/Sole information provider for every potential resident for most of 2021, has been doing an incredible job interacting with every person who has any level of interest in the Brentwood facility. She responds to inquiries as quickly as she can in a warmly professional manner, many times having to deliver information we don’t want to hear - another delay?! She also hears concerns, remembers what they are, and follows up when she has pertinent information. I picture her dancing as fast as she can while juggling a host of priorities many of which have no final answers. Although Crystal clearly represents Merrill Gardens’ values and philosophy, I feel she will be a good resident advocate as she respectfully listens to our concerns.

Excellent option for those looking to locate loved ones in an assisted living facility. Multitude of amenities with robust activity programs with pool. Close proximity to John Muir Hospital and am sure will be awarded high recognition from appropriate associations. Leasing agent, Crystal was a joy to work with, keeping us well informed and offering options to consider. Highly recommend Crystal and faculty for your assisted living needs.

Love this place. I can get my Kent Active Dog, dog food here. The staff is very friendly and helpful
