Fort Duffield

Great experience!!

If you decide to visit and I encourage you to, wear some good walking shoes. The hike to to the actual fort is a good ways and uphill. they have a road but for some reason it is blocked so you can't drive to the top. Once you get to the top it's beautiful, the remains of the fort are educational. There are plaques that tell what most of the buildings were used for in the war. The fort and surrounding grounds at the top are very well kept and the view over west point up and down the Ohio River is stunning. Would be great outing for family and kid's. Plenty of room for the kid's to run around in the center portion of the fort. Beware of the outer edge's especially for kids, this place is very steep. when we were there looking upstream of the river we could see far past the L.G.E. power plant.
