Fort Duffield Park & Historic Site

The hilltop, ridge top of the remains of the fort, and site of the cemetery is beautiful, as is the view looking down upon West Point, and the Ohio River. I stopped on Tuesday, I'd recommend a weekday. The only sounds are birds, and the traffic from 31W below.

Love the hell out of this place. Wish they'd built it up a more. Like adding more cabins. Another then that this place is a nice little getaway from reality. It almost feels like turning back time. I highly recommend checking out this place. But be Mindful there's a hell of a walk to the top of the Fort.

Really neat views, a bit of a challenging walk up the hills. Great example of the fort style, and a few plaques explaining some of the history. Quick walking tour well with the time.

I had so much fun mtb out on these trails with my man! Some trails were very technical. I am beginner/intermediate but I still enjoyed the ride! So many places to sit and take a break. A gas station was down the road which was nice because we didn’t pack enough water! Lol

Really nice piece of history with markers describing each area. There is a supply of maps and info at the parking lot area as well as a picnic shelter. A lot of open space at the top for a blanket picnic. Several small log cabins you can enter and a clean outhouse at the top. Site overlooks the Ohio River into Indiana. Warning: this path is wide and paved but extremely steep and strenuous, especially in the heat.
