There are actually beaches in KY along the Ohio River. A particularly nice on is off of Route 42, but there are some other ones along River Road. Check out Hays Kennedy Park. Louisville is a romantic place in general and there is a lot to do. If you go up Route 42, be sure to stop at Captian's Quarters.
