Great location to visit and explore our nations past history. Also a great location for a nature walk around the paved walking track. Very scenic and beautiful sittings. Rounding hills, blue grass pastures and yes very old buildings to explore. Simply a very relaxing location that needs more people to come check it out.
I went here before the building opened. I was traveling and wanted to at least see the battleground area. A docent showed up and gave me some helpful information. My half, great-uncle fought in this battle. I definitely want to come back
This is a great place for Civil War buffs. Nice paved walking trail has informative signs about the Battle of Richmond. We were not familiar with this action. The park is managed by a historical association. The signage is very weather-beaten and due for upgrades. The park has picnic tables and decent public restrooms. We walked over 2 miles while viewing all the historical signs. The visitor's center is at another location, open only briefly during the week. But historical park is open all day, no charge.
Awesome place to visit. You can visualize what the battle must've been like for the soldiers. If American history is your thing definitely a place you have to see at least once.
