Great location close to I64. Well maintained, wide trails. Lots of open space as well. Nice sized parking lot and easy entry and exit. Trail paths vary in difficulty and length but it's easy enough to spend a whole day here, or at any time take a quick route back to the parking lot.
Never super crowded.
Would love to see a designated watering station/wash bay with hitching post/tie off space nearer the parking lot.
My husband and I took a trail ride today and our guide, Kim, was awesome! She guided us through pasture, woods and along a creek. The horses were beautiful and well trained. I highly recommend this place!!
Our guided trail ride was perfection- all three kiddos, ages 13, 11, and 8, were begging to come back again soon. I felt that we were all safe, well equipped, and able to enjoy the ride, with such great guides.
Emily and Bayleigh were AWESOME!! Emily was in the back with us telling us about working with the horses. She gave us advice about riding tips and techniques when I ask about it. She was a wealth of knowledge. Lou Lou was a great horse and we got along great! Emily gets a bonus for loving and knowing all about Star Wars. Plo’s Bros!! 10/10 would recommend!
The good news is that the horses seem very well cared for. I was on Shy, who was very responsive and a pleasure to ride.
The big detraction from the ride was the guide, Bailey, who reprimanded us if our horse was not exactly in line (by as little as one foot - these are horses, not robots!), and that was about all she said to the group. I understand that jerks go riding, and she has obviously had her share, but to treat everyone as the lowest common denominator is not a good strategy either. Of course safety is the number one priority, but the way she led the ride was joyless - which is a shame because the horses were great and the trail absolutely gorgeous!!
