“Great steakhouse, centrally located to an amazing area. It's definitely worth a visit if you're interested in a steak while near the university. Priced reasonable and portions are appreciable. While I found the ribeye steaks tasty and cooked to perfect, the thicker filet was a bit overcooked. At the table, we also had the tuna, which looked to be cooked perfect to the order. Stuffed mushrooms and onion rings are definitely a must try option. While overall our party was pleased, I was a bit disappointed by the side dishes. Creamed spinach and sweet potato were both luke warm and not in the same culinary category as the meal. Stop o this place out. Get an order of mushrooms and a slab of meat. Enjoy.”

“Excellent food! Only negative was the special - Philly cheese steak was dry. Everything else was superb. Nicely seasoned, moist, and tender. I absolutely loved the smoked platter, and they make very good broccoli and cheese. This is probably one of the few times I would comment on the sides of a dish as being great but it was surprising.”

“Had a plate lunch here recently. One of the Thursday specials - BBQ pork steak. Came with dirty rice, mac n cheese and baked beans. Overall what a score. Most folks could make two meals out of this! Pork steak was a little dry and places but overall very enjoyable. We already plan to be back on a Monday for red beans. I'm a little on the fence about the boudin ball I had - it didn't seem to stand up to what I've had from west of the river, but I'm gonna be back for boudin only and get a better idea!”

“Always a great experience. The thin fried catfish is our go-to. The small is plenty but a large is also offered if you are particularly hungry. This visit I had the oysters and fish. The oysters are breaded with a simple breadcrumb and flash fried. There isn't much spice or taste to the breading for the oysters, in my opinion. We went on a Saturday and were seated quickly even though the place was packed. Seating available inside and outside. There's a sand playground for the kids now as well.”

“Awesome little place hidden by the large chain seafood restaurant next door. We chose to stop here on our way back to Baton Rouge from the Whitney Plantation and are so glad we did. The staff was friendly and the food was some of the best we’ve had since we hit Louisiana. Tom ordered 1/2 Shrimp 1/2 Catfish and said the catfish is quite possibly the best he’s had. One of the girls and I ordered the shrimp and it was cooked perfectly and the breading was light and crispy. The other child had the shrimp pasta that was tasty and filling.”
