“I moved to the West River area about 4 years ago. I needed to find a new pharmacy, among other things. I tried CVS, and found myself standing in long lines to get my prescriptions. The entrance is in one corner of the building, and the pharmacy counter is in the opposite corner, meaning you have to work your way through isles of merchandise and impulse purchases. All of the goods are overpriced compared to other stores. I had some bad experiences with the CVS staff. In one experience, I stood in line only to be told that I had a problem with my insurance and I had to stand in another line. While there, I could see training posters about customer service and pledges with signatures on them. After I got my insurance problem straightened out, I was told to go back to the end of the prescription line. Another 20 minutes of standing! I switched to Walgreen's. They had the same retail focus as CVS, but they didn't push merchandise as heavily. There was a drive up window, so I could avoid standing in line. But, the service and reliability was awful. They were frequently out of basic drugs. Once, I was told to drive to another Walgreen's 22 miles away to get my prescription filled. I saw an ad for Deale Pharmacy in Bay Weekly, and noticed that they would do deliveries in the South County area. This is an old fashioned, independent, non-chain pharmacy. The pharmacist is a caring man, and the staff is helpful. If you live near Deale, I recommend supporting this local business that will serve you so much better than a chain store.”

“If you need a unique gift, make sure you get to a showing. The best way to be informed about showings is to get on the email list. I have found gifts for people who have everything, and still the gift is useful and used.”

“Super shop for tackle and some bait for fishing on Chesapeake Bay. One of the few easy access boat ramps with reasonable fee. One of the few places near or on Herring Bay to get fuel and easy docking for that purpose. Sometimes good intel on what’s biting on what....not so much where ????”

“I've used Pool Perfect since moving to the Bay 12 years ago. They are friendly, helpful, real. My pool chemistry is perfect 99% of the time and when something weird does happen (mustard color algae!), they know how to fix it. They've taught me a lot about owning a pool. Most of all, I appreciated them the Sunday morning I woke up to find my pool water down 3 ft, flooding the pump house, and draining into the Bay. They were there within the hour to fix the broken circ pipe.”

“I enjoyed my trip on the Bay Lady, even though we didnt get our trophy striped bass- but thats fishing! The captain and mate were curtious and professional. Cant blame them when a cold front came through and killed the bite. Id go again if I was in the area.”

“The local Churchton Dollar General seems to have just about everything - clothing, cleaning products, snacks, can even rent a carpet shampooer. Would be nice to have the extra produce that some Dollar General stores have, lines are also often slow due to few employees working at once. Otherwise, good general stop on the way home, or that quick supply run on the weekend.”
