“I can't say enough good things about this place. My daughter and I had a BLAST in one of the cozy cabins (a real hit with her as she'd never been camping). Everything was clean and updated. The bathrooms were the nicest of any I've ever seen at a campground. Management was both professional and friendly. We had to reschedule at one point and a two room cabin was not available for the new dates that we needed. We went ahead and booked a one bedroom and decided to just make the best of it (total party was myself, my young teenage daughter, my friend and her 2 young teenage daughters). At check-in I guess there had been a cancellation and a 2 bedroom was available. The manager upgraded us back up to that without charging anything additional for the more expensive cabin. We were all very comfortable in the 2 bedroom and I think being cramped into the 1 bedroom would have put a major damper on the entire experience. It was so much fun. If ever in the dc area again we will definitely be staying there again.”

“Cool park to visit and hike. This place has a really cool pier. Only negative is the trail is more man made rather then natural.”

“Be sure to bring bug spray in warmer months. Several of the trails are interesting with local cactus and many intersections.”

“The trails here are great; they are wide and well tended. You have several to choose from as well. The parking area is adequate and there is a receptacle with pet waste bags which is great if you've forgotten yours. I just wish everyone would use them instead of leaving their dogs droppings on the trail.”

“Kayaking here is great! The waterways offer awesome views and the waters here are full of life. Kayak fishing is also great here. If your a first time kayak angler, this is a good river to pratice on. In the summers, I suggest getting here early so you can launch with the high tide and get out on the water before noon if at all possible.”

“Jug Bay is one of the more underutilized and tranquil parks in the DC region. The $6 donation is absolutely worth it for the Beech Trail alone. That trail is quiet and features mature undisturbed forest and several areas with massive beeches, tulip poplars, and oaks.”
