“If you're looking for a place to take your dog for training, this is it! We have been working with Ashley and our dog's behavior has improved dramatically between his aggression and independence. Her and Mariah are great trainers and I can't stress enough about how well our dog's behavior has improved. We are constantly getting compliments from family members and friends about how well behaved he is. I cannot recommend them enough!”

Patuxent Research Refuge - North Tract Visitor Center

Address: 230 Bald Eagle Dr, Laurel, MD 20724, USA

Park

“This tract is clearly much less used than the South although I’d argue it’s infinitely better. Has a nice parking area and a little visitor center that appeared to be open and had a bathroom. Multiple trails going right off including the Patuxent Overlook and little trail. Neither is amazing but worth doing the loop. Then straight off Turkey way and forest trail are both solid. I’d recommend all.”

Elmer E Raymond Jr Memorial Park

“Great playground, fenced in, new, safe equipment thats exciting for the kids. Fields, courts, grassy area adjacent. We loved it!!!!”

Severn Run NEA Trails

Address: 1027-1055 Dicus Mill Rd, Millersville, MD 21108, USA

Park

“I've been going to Dicus Mill Creek for approximately 25 years! I first started going there with my two older boys because it is very Zen, and unpopulated! The park ranger lives 300 ft up the street from where you park at which is only two parking spots. But if you do not like anybody else being around and a Sandy Bottom Creek that you can play in and walk in without any dangers this is an excellent place. I can't give you too many more directions or it will not be unpopulated anymore. LOL My Little Getaway!”

Severn Run Natural Environment Area

Address: Severn, MD 21144, USA

“Trail has been reclaimed by nature, but if you are Keen on following game trails it's not too bad. Wear thick pants, and be prepared to fight thick briars. Saw plenty of blue heron, and a few ducks. I did pick up a few ticks!”

“We stayed one night at a tent site. We arrived jusssst before 7:00pm to check in and they were very hospitable despite causing them to stay a little later than usual. The general store sold anything anyone could have possibly needed (firewood, can openers, marshmallows). The sites were well marked and we located ours with the map just fine after dark. The ground was quite level for the tent and the picnic table. Only one vehicle is allowed per site but there was room for at least two since we didn’t have a pavilion tent or anything. We paid extra to have site access to water and electricity but didn’t need it, even though it made me feel better to have access in case we did. Pack in, pack out. The building with the bathrooms and showers were a very short walk from the site and I was delighted to discover that they were heated! We didn’t have any kids with us this time but the games behind the general store seemed like they’d be a lot of fun for a weekend family camping trip.”

“It's a great hiking experience for the purpose of hiking only... there's not much to see as far as anything too scenic, but there are many trails that stretch for quite some distance. You are required to check in and will need to provide some personal information. Whether you're hunting or simply hiking. It was a true joy during my check in to speak with such a helpful, knowledgeable, and truly friendly parks employee by the name of Lillian Fazio. I found her rather remarkable and you'd be absolutely fortunate to have her host you while checking yourself in for a hike. Maps are provided and I'd personally suggest you take one while trekking.”
