Bills Music House

TLDR: Bill's Music House in Catonsville, MD is better than Amazon, Facebook Marketplace, Guitar Center and any other music store I've ever been to!

I wanted a djembe drum, but wanted to try it out before I bought it. I first went to Guitar Center in Glen Burnie, but they only had two very small drums and they both sounded terrible! Then I googled music stores and found Bill's in Catonsville. I drove from Guitar Center straight to Bill's and found the djembe jackpot!! They had an entire collection ranging from wood carved and goatskin to synthetic Toca brands. I tried all of them out and spent a great deal of time there, but I didn't feel pressured at all to just buy and leave. I ended up picking a wonderful djembe drum at a reasonably afforadble price. I walked up to the counter with my large djembe and the employee who helped me, Christian, offered to carry it to my car. I told him how amazing the instrumet selection was and he suggested I sign up for the rewards program, and also mentioned that they also buy used instruments. I own multiple guitars, so I asked if I could go home and bring my Martin backpacker guitar I never really played anymore in for store credit. Christian said absolutely and offered to keep my djembe behind the counter. I drove home and when I got back to the store it only took me 10 minutes to get an estimate for my guitar. Since it was a reasonable offer I took the store credit and used it towards the djembe. Overall I am super satisfied with my purchase! I got rid of a guitar I didn't really have any use for and I walked away with an instrument that will last me a lifetime. I would recommend this music store to anyone who is looking for high quality products as well as fair & honorable business practices.

I was doing a last minute search for a reasonably priced used guitar. After searching in the places closer to my home, I came up empty handed. Every place I called had guitars way out of my price range. I remembered seeing Bills Music when I drove through Catonsville and gave them a call. Ernesto was exactly the right person for me. He did some looking and gave great recommendations. I got the best guitar and my adult son (a proficient guitar player) was thrilled. From now on I will make Bills Music my first stop when searching for instruments. And will highly recommend Ernesto for his knowledge and excellent customer service.

Excellent and welcoming music store! Recently had a great experience buying a new guitar amp with the help of Drew - incredibly helpful and not pushy in the slightest! Just a wonderful salesperson, he set me up in the whisper room so I could test out two amps side by side with the volume cranked. The amp I wanted had some extra hum so they fixed it up (threw in a new tube) & I bought it the week after. Highly recommend the place!

Worked here for 14 years and only left because I moved out of the area. Had a lot of fun working with the Bill’s Fam and met a lot of great people. Customers became friends and coworkers became family. The mission is to help people with their musical wants and needs, helping them create music!
