“We rented kayaks here while camping at Smallwood State Park which is just a 15 min drive away. This is a great establishment. The customer service and knowledge of staff is excellent. The kayaks are in good shape and reasonable prices for either single or tandem kayaks. The rental company is on Mattawoman Creek next to the nature reserve and we saw many osprey, white egrets, and in general the environs of the creek are peaceful and lovely. I highly recommend this is a place to rent kayaks if you're staying out at Smallwood or if you need am escape from DC. It is not too far at all. Thanks for a great experience!”

“The entrance was closed for vehicle traffic. I parked at the entrance and walked through the side gate. The walk to Mount Aventine was half a mile. As I got closer to the house, there were trees planted on both sides of the path and Mount Aventine slowly began to appear between the trees... Very pretty view. Behind the house is a large field with a path, River Access Trail, to the Potomac River. I stopped behind the house, saw the frame of the smokehouse, and turned around to walk back to the car. Total of 1.05 miles. I was going to hike the trails but my pups already walked over 2 miles before arriving at the park. I didn't think the want to go another couple more miles. The entrance to the Coastal Woodlands Trail is on the right before reaching the house and there is a portable potty in the trees right after the Coastal Woodlands Trail. After passing the trail entrance, the Potomac River Trail entrance is on the left. Look for a rectangular information sign and you will see the trail entrance. Everything is well marked. This park is very quiet and peaceful. I will probably come back and hike the Marsh Trail, which is what I came here for. Didn't realize I couldn't drive up to the house, closer to the trail entrance.”

“I have been to this village green park so many times without any issue. The park which also is part of Indian Head elementary school is always well maintained. Different teams from other schools also play there. Indian Head police is frequently passing by the park.Last time I went to the park, I had the opportunity to see the middle school students paying soccer. It was very interesting to see the kids playing there.I have taking my friends and family from out of state here and the really loved it. So if you ever want to visit the park, feel free to do so. You will love. I will definitely go there again.”
