Have been coming here off and on for years. Tucked away in a lovely neighborhood adjacent to a MARC commuter station in a house like structure. Food has always been consistently good. Wait staff also well trained and friendly.
On our most recent visit I enjoyed the burger (pictured) which comes with small side salad and today very thinly sliced Onion rings. Burger was cooked as I ordering it, medium rare. Others enjoy the grain salad, another had shrimp and grits, all were pleased with the choices.
Beverages are coke products, a fair beer selection, heavy on local craft beer and a good wine selection. Didn't see spirits or cocktails offered. (Pictured is Brewer's Art Resurrection Dubbel)
We did have desserts - lemon mousse cake and a hazelnut chocolate creation of some kind, people tore into the desserts before I could take a picture. I thought appetizers and main dishes were better than desserts.
Again, very consistent quality of food and good service make this place worth a visit.
If YOU LOVE FOOD, you HAVE TO TRY BLACK MARKET BISTRO!
This is an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING FINE DINING RESTAURANT hidden in the Garrett Park area of Rockville pike.
This place has a different vibe altogether. It's not your typical fancy restaurant. When you reach here, you will first notice that it's actually a house that has been converted into a resto. The living room has been transformed into the main dining hall, and then you have tables spread around various rooms. Nothing like i have seen before.
Finally the FOOD, in 2 words, BREATHTAKING DELICIOUS! The menu is small, yet, everything on there is an absolute must try. Its presented beautifully and tastes so good. Just one word of advice. Please dont come here to eat pizza, try the other things they have on there. Dont get me wrong, the pizzas are amazing too, but, the other stuff is what you want to try here.
Must try when you go first -
1. Soup of the day (rotates)
2. Entree of the day (rotates)
3. New orleans style prawns
4. Their french fries (very different than regular fries; much thinner like pasta and done just right!)
5. Hardwood Grilled Salmon/ Steak
I was searching for a brunch place and found this restaurant got really good reviews, so just came by for dine in. Everything turns out very well. The location and building is very unique, love the cozy feeling. The squash soup and pizza really stood out. Server is super friendly and recommended today’s specials. Will definitely come again.
One of my favorite places that I've been coming to for years. The food is always high quality, delicious, and beautiful. The staff are lovely as well. The location of this place is stunning and the interior design makes it feel both historic and homey. While we usually come for dinner, the brunch on the weekends is equally as delightful.
What an idyllic magical hidden place to have a relaxing brunch. Hidden in a residential area next to a park and the Garrett Park train station, it's incredibly charming and historic. The basement of the old house holds the post office. The upstairs has the great restaurant with fabulous food. The street in front is closed off for outside seating with plenty of shaded seating. We had a wonderful time with amazing french food. The name has market in it, but there is no market, just a great restaurant. Lots of inside seating in the in old house also. Lovely!
