“I lived at The Pearl for two years from January 2020 to January 2022. Overall, the experience was largely positive even despite challenges associated with the pandemic. I would recommend you consider this building if your budget allows. The Good: * Security - I liked having someone constantly at the front desk and having to scan my fob to enter the building, elevator, stairwell, etc. * Amenities - Despite a lot of changes as a result of the pandemic, I really do think the amenities are great, especially if you have a dog. The dog parks, open field, and pup wash are excellent. The gym is two stories and has good equipment (including Peloton bikes) and is always clean. I also love that certain food trucks park in front of the building throughout the week. * Maintenance - Every minor issue we had was resolved quickly. The maintenance guys were always so friendly. Also, there are some reviews about people not getting their security deposit back. For reference, we took care of the apartment and cleaned it well before moving out, so we received our full deposit AND pet deposit back. Just be wary of some reviews. *Location - I loved being super close to the grocery store and within walking distance of the metro. The best part is that this apartment is situated against a residential area so it's pretty quiet compared to other parts of DTSS. The Bad: * Parking - I know this is a Montgomery County/DC issue, but parking was expensive. The outdoor assigned parking was ~$125 per month and the garage was nearly $200 per month. * Dog owners - I'm saying this as a dog owner ... some of the most rude/annoying/incompetent dog owners I've ever met live here (or in the nearby Blairs). Just 1) be prepared for a bunch of untrained and off-leash dogs, 2) avoid the dog parks when it's too crowded, and 3) use common sense :) The Okay: * Staff - The concierge and leasing office personnel were very much hit or miss. They either went out of their way to help you or talked to you, or kind of ignored you. The day time folks were usually the best. * Value - There is no denying the apartments are beautiful and not as cheaply made as some of the others I've seen in the area. It is just difficult to say they are 'worth' the price tag. COVID-19 - I do think the complex did their best to manage the pandemic. They kept the mask mandate in place even when Montgomery Co. had lifted theirs - I know some people were annoyed by this, but I thought it was the right thing. The only thing worth noting is that it wasn't really enforced.”

“I haven’t even moved in yet, but I’m extremely impressed. The staff is total and complete AWESOMENESS!!! Courtney, Keith, Zara, & the property manager Melrose exceeded my expectations. The grounds of the property are well maintained and the units are remodeled like an episode of HGTV’s Property Brothers. The rental application process was easy and efficient, the amenities are to die for. All the maintenance staff is friendly. The leasing staff appears to know all the tenants on a first name basis. If you are looking for a great community with a sense of camaraderie, this is the place 👍🏾”

The one thing of many that attracted me to this community was the washer and dryer in the apartment. It's the best. The rooms are a little small but I guess downsizing is the simple way of living now, but I love it.”

“This is a BADDDDDDD Apartment RUN if you are thinking of renting with them. They never fix anything when it's broken and it's roach infested and mice infested. The roaches and mice live in the walls so you can't get rid of them. Now about the worker's at the office. There is only one lady who is nice but the rest are trash. There is this toad oompa loompa look alike who drives a white jeep. I don't know his name but he is the worst out of them all. That man will get on your last nerve and he looks like an abandoned christmas tree. If you lose your key or accidentally lock your key inside well you better pray to Jesus because they will not open the door. The mentainnace people came to the apartment to finally fix my bathroom sink and they locked the door after them. When my 16 year old daughter went there to ask them to open the gate, the oompa loompa look alike told her they won't open the door because she was a minor I have to be there. In maryland the age for children to be able to stay at home alone is 13 and my daughter was pass that age. I was in New York that day so I couldn't go and my wife was at work. He also said she had to be 18 before they open the door.When I got my 18 year old daughter went there they said since she wasn't a lease holder they wouldn't open the door. My children had to stay outside for a long time till when my wife closed from work at 11pm. They are horrible humans who don't have empathy or compassion for anyone. I moved last month. RUN RUN RUN don't rent an apartment from them.”

“Hello, I’m a shopper that shops other communities in my area. I visited Yorkshire Apartments today around 11:30am to tour the community. I was very impressed with the community appearance when I drove around. I found a parking space, went into the office and there was a fresh scent coming from the office. I was greater by a woman name Andrea. She smiled and said how may I help you. There was another lady who was in the office but was helping someone else. I let Andrea know that I was looking around and wanted some general information about the property. She said come over and have a seat, she offered me coffee, and a snack ( impressive). I declined. Andrea was very professional, knowledgeable when providing information and made me feel very comfortable with her. She explained throughly the different floor plans, traditional style vs. the renovation as well as some prior management renovation units. After that was discussed, she said’ lets go an take a look of what we have and you’ll be excited about your new home. She asked for my ID (I told her I didn’t have it with me because I was rushing). She immediately said, unfortunately, we are unable to tour without valid identification. I knew that was correct but didn’t want to blow my cover because I always shop my comps. If I was actually looking to move I would live here.”

I have to give a BIG shoutout to Jessee in the Leasing Office. I had an issue with a previous apartment complex who really screwed me over. I put in an application for the apartment on Tuesday evening, spoke to Jessee on Wednesday morning, and I was approved for my apartment on that Wednesday afternoon!!!
