“This is the Glendale Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These people are some of the most amazing "doers" that I've ever met in my life! Tonight they had a meeting of the Patuxent District of the Boy Scouts of America. They allow many public organizations and groups to utilize their building. Their faith is all about reaching out and assisting the disadvantaged, those who cannot help themselves. They don't talk about it they just do it in their normal daily course of affairs. They are celibate before marriage and generally proliferate after. =) Their beliefs are Universal. They believe after the Savior was crucified and his apostles where killed off the church that Jesus Christ established was polluted by the beliefs of man. The Council of Nicea attempted to put Christ back into Christianity. They weren't successful because Heavenly Father had withdrawn his spirit. It wasn't until the great reformers like Luther and Calvin in the middle-ages attempted to recreate the Church of Jesus Christ. These Great Men freely admit that the authority to reestablish the Saviors was gone and they could only draw from the holy scriptures in an attempt to rebuild the His Church. These Protestant churches (Protestant= Protesting the Catholic and "Orthodox" Churchs) proliferated as more and more reformers introduced their own ideas and once again polluted the Lord's Church. This changed in the early eighteen-hundreds when a young, 14 year old Farm Boy name Joseph Smith prayed to Heavenly Father, "...what church should I join?" He was told by Heavenly Messengers (Angels) to join none of the churches for none of them taught the entire truth. He was taught by angels and received revelation from God the Father and priesthood Authority from the early Patriarchs (Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Peter, James, Mormon, Moroni, etc) to reestablish the Lord Jesus Christ's Church on Earth. This beautiful Chapel is one of thousands that dot this earth. It's significant to me that: * the Mormons don't have paid ministry- everyone serves without pay including the Bishops, Apostles and the Prophet. * they are guided by revelation. The Bible and other sacred books are revelation for people of other times and eras. The Prophet receives revelation to guide the Lord's church for today. The members receive revelation for themselves and their families...cool huh? * best of all, the Mormons don't expect us to automatically believe what they teach. They SUGGEST we read from the Book of Mormon and pray to find out if it is true... If you'd like to know more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints look me up on FB and send me a shout! It will change your life, I promise! Doug Boyd”

“Light City Church has been a blessing in my personal life and in the lives of many others! Light City Church is a unique and impactful church that builds a strong and loving community. The way the word of God is broken down is mind blowing and insightful. The Lead Pastors are amazing and they genuinely have a heart and love for people, to see people grow in their walk with God, their giftings, personal lives etc. I love this church because they definitely teach us the word of God and how we can apply to our day to day lifestyles. They also have resources on how we can implement/connect Sunday's message to our personal lives. I am glad I can call this place HOME!”
