“A great park to bring kids or just to come here to hang out with friends. Close and convenient in terms of distance to downtown Leonardtown, however there is a rather steep hill one may encounter while walking from here to Leonardtown. There is a restroom block here that is tended to regularly and is very clean, there is also a short and well kept boardwalk here that stretches along the shores of Breton bay, along with interesting information boards about Leonardtown, the arrival of the British colonists, local wildlife, and local life around Southern Maryland. There is also a park where kids of about 7 or under can play (but hey, if you're older I dont judge) and a large field where you can bring dogs, also there are benches which are awesome to watch the sunset from.”

“First: DNR should rotate the sign for the park 90 degrees. The sign is parallel to Indian Bridge Road. It's easy to miss. The parking area isn't far from the turn from Rt. 4 to Indian Bridge Road. DNR should install insect repellent dip troughs in the parking area. Second: It's a quiet place to hike and it looks like it will be fine for some biking. Nothing technical which is fine by me. Should you be hiking or biking between late spring and late fall, use insect repellent. There are vernal pools and stagnant water and a plethora of biting insects. It's been a wet couple of weeks, but some of the water looks like it's more than occasional. You'll hike or bike through long grass in places. The trails hadn't been mowed this growing season (2018) and by August, ticks abound. Skip the repellent and some deer hunter will find your exsanguinated corpse or you'll be a vector for Lyme's disease. After an hour hiking, the greenheads stole my DEET and snorted it. Third: wear sturdy shoes. DNR placed builder's fill on the roads providing access to the trails. The rubble is too large for foot paths and pretty rough stuff. Not too unpleasant, but I should have worn above-the-ankle boots for the support. I was just scouting the trails for a place to bike. Bring a flame thrower for when the insect repellent fails. Fourth: It really looks like a great place to set up a photographer's blind to catch some good shots of turkeys, birds, deer, and foxes. There are some long, straight stretches of edge habitat and dusk or dawn should be plenty rewarding. Spray the blind with insect repellent, or the flies will steal it.”

“I wasn't here very long but it is a nice quite place and went to the small waterfront area. First time here but I think there are two areas. Besides that I really enjoyed it. Here in October the weather is cool and crisp the sound of the water is very relaxing looking out to the bridge and seeing all the beautiful color of the sun setting on the trees was a nice end to the day. They have tables and grills here so I can see it being a great place to have a family outing or small get together.”
