“The room was clean and the setup in our room was practical. It's not incredibly large but roomy enough for two peoe. I loved the little kitchenette, it's the perfect size. This place is setback from the boardwalk so everything is real close. Public transit is a block away. I can't remember the name of the restaurant at the bottom... Maybe Maggie's?... But the food there is great and reasonably priced. Looking forward to staying at this place next year when we go.”

“Very convenient to the boardwalk and the beach. I love the fact that they have patio furniture so you can sit down and eat and the bench tables for larger groups. Also the barbecue grills, they provide the charcoal the lighter fluid and the utensils to barbecue.”

“People may not believe this but the best Crabcake I've had in OC was at Hemingway's. Not the biggest or best value but the best tasting. Huge lump, creamy with a hint of spice. Broiled to perfection. I got a steak and it was cooked perfect,, nice, fresh veggies, my wife got the crabcakes and they were Amazing! They were so good, I got 2 to go. Someone at our table got the seafood pasta and it was loaded with crab, shrimp, scallops, etc.. They raved about it. It's a weird place to dine, right next to the indoor pool, and the service, while friendly, was really slow and we were overcharged for items we didn't order, but they corrected this and bought us a drink.. The bar area is nice with large selection of beers, but the food was great and I will definitely be back”

“I have stayed here many times and the prices are very reasonable. They have a nice pool with a bar outside. The bar isn’t always open and I’m not sure what determines that. They have a large deck out back facing the ocean with dozens of rocking chairs. The staff is always friendly and kind. The rooms are a little dated but they are always clean. I will be back again”

Its valentines weekend and Hemmings restaurant had a special so hubby and I had dinner and our waitress was super sweet. The room was clean and felt comfy.The hotel could use a bit of updating but all in all lovely hotel.”

“We’ve been going to the Safari since before Arthur & Marie owned it. We found this gem because we go with our dog and to have a pet friendly place directly on the Boardwalk is amazing. Clean and the maids are awesome. The (newly replaced) decks are a great place to people watch as they parade down the boards. Perfect location because it’s just beyond the honky tonk of the boards but everything is easily accessible. I could go on and on...”

“I will echo the other reviews, great place to stay. Here for the New Year and have to say.. Stellar! Clean and courteous with a deck looking out over the beach. The restaurant looks a bit dated but the food is excellent. I had them make a crab eggs benedict and it was the best I've ever had. Great job to the entire staff.”

“My husband and I was away and he suggested that we eat here. I wasn't comfortable with the idea. Eating out isn't one of my favorite things to do. Because i pay attention to details and being in the restaurant industry makes me even more aware. From the time we walk in until the end of service I was very impressed. The host greeted us with a smile, the guy playing the piano did the same. It didn't take long for our server to greet us. Food came out with no problems. I was very satisfied with the service we received. If I lived in ocean City this would be our date night place to eat.”

“This is a lovely vintage hotel right on the boardwalk this hotel is a bonus especially if you love vintage elevators! It has a 1950s Otis black button elevator that runs like a champ. As for the rooms they are nice they could use some work as the screen in my window was broken so I couldn’t open my window without letting bugs and such in the sheets were clean as was the bathroom I spent my 22nd birthday here alone as a solo trip. Not the most kid friendly hotel it’s mostly older couples”
