“Beautiful spot, but I want it all to myself, it's a nice 30 acre plot, I believe, that was donated to the city by a resident. Therr are thick woods with trails running through. If your trying to get out of city but don't want to go far, Sally Milligan”

“I have a border collie— I feel like I should just stop there! This is a FANTASTIC space to let her get the excersize she craves. Not only is this a great space for my dog... I’ve found that the people that bring theirs too are great. Every time I’ve been I’ve been treated to a great group of strangers that partake in great conversation and a great pile of dogs between us. I’ve NEVER had any issues. Of course there are dogs that aren’t too keen on being the center of attention or in playing in large groups, and their owners understand and have the ability to take them to an area where they can enjoy the park, too. There is separate spaces for big and small dogs, benches to sit if you’d like, the ground is dirt and grass, not pebbles like I’ve seen before—it’s easier on mine and my dogs feet, especially when she’s running she’s less likely to slip and fall, or, if she’s feeling weird, less likely to eat. There are dog water fountains all around the perimeter, though in the winter, be sure to bring a milk jug full of water since those tend to freeze so the water gets shut off. I love that there’s two gates to enter the play area, it helps getting leashes or harnesses off without fear of the dog taking off, or being bombarded by a bunch of dogs while trying to do this while you’re trying to get in or out. The only issue I have is that more people should pick up their dogs poop. It’s a common belief that if it’s outside, it’s okay, but the reason for this is to prevent parasite contamination and disease to other pets and people. Despite what you think, some parasites that can be transmitted in the feces can survive harsh weather and for extremely long periods of time (even years) and some parasites can be transmissible to humans and tend to be most dangerous to children. You can bring those things into your home or your own yard via your shoes or your pets feet/ body if they’ve rolled in it. If you want to know more, look up round worm ocular larval migrans. Let’s keep it safe and fun out there!! See you next time! (And don’t forget a poop bag!)”
