The Harpoon Plum Island

I was lucky enough to get away to The Harpoon for a much needed weekend respite. It was perfectly located steps away from the beach. I walked the beach, met some locals and enjoyed the beautiful views. The hammocks and sprawling porch were my favorite areas. The house had all the amenities needed and was spacious and extremely comfortable. I only wish I could have stayed longer. The lighthouse next door is charming and listening to the surf at night made for a fantastic nights sleep. I would highly recommend a vacation here any season to anyone. The owner was also pleasant and friendly and accessible for anything I needed.

The Harpoon has the seven elements of shibusa: simplicity, implicity, modesty, silence, naturalness, everydayness, and imperfection. The house and location have a “refinement underlying commonplace appearances.” The setting is beyond spectacular with golden hour sunsets to the west and a lighthouse nightlight to the east.

The property was very cozy. All the amenities of home. Great location. Enjoyed the beach and fishing. Friendly neighborhood, quiet and relaxing. Great way to end the summer.

We just came back from a fabulous week at Harpoon. I can't say enough good things about the place. The house was cozy and inviting. The deck was wonderful, spacious, with a killer sunset view. We had everything we needed to rest and relax. The owner was a text away to answer any questions. Definitely booking for next year

Our family spent a wonderful 10 days at The Harpoon and everything was perfect! The house is clean and totally stocked with whatever you might need and the layout is perfect for a family beach vacation. The deck is amazing and the beach just a few steps away. The owners are wonderful, easy to communicate with and clearly care very much about their home and guests. We can't wait for our next visit to The Harpoon!
