Had a great time out on the water with Newburyport whale watch. Saw a ton of whales and the naturalist did a great job sharing information on what we were looking at. Only reason for 4 stars was they didn’t provide any free water when it was 95 degrees out and they had a fee to use your credit card.
4hrs trip - 90 mins each way and 1hr of whale 🐳 watch. They respect your time and are particular about it. They depart after 5mins max wait. And they reach back 10mins before the estimated time too.
I really liked it and so did my kids. I would recommended it for summer trips with family. Keep jackets for kids, it might be needed in case you sit outside.
The crew is really young and friendly. They have various food options inside as well at nominal prices.
Parking: You can park it in large municipal parking for $1 per hour(pay at kiosk by cash or card).
Such a fun experience! We saw so many whales and great guide to tell us all about the whales we were seeing. The boat was definitely filled to the max which made it hard to find seating so get their early to get in line to get a seat that’s in the shade. It was about 1.5 hours before we saw whales so it’s a nice ride on the boat to the whales and back. Very fun way to spend half your day!
Awesome experience with Newburyport Whale Watch. We had a giant humpback come up to the side of the boat for all to see. It was just amazing to see how big these creatures are. The crew said we should all go buy lottery tickets as they do not normally come that close to the boat! The crew was top notch and everything well organized. I would highly recommend this tour!
I did a lot of research to find a whale watching company before our vacation and was pleased to read the excellent reviews on Newburyport Whale Watch. Used a Groupon to get a little money off, which was nice. The weather was beautiful the day we went, in the low 70s and fairly calm. The boat was comfortable and clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. After a long ride out, we had two separate encounters, both Humpbacks. The whales stayed around for a little while, which was great. Even though it was just two whales, they were quality encounters and we were thrilled with our afternoon. One note: pay attention to the warnings about bringing warmer clothing than you might expect to need - it gets downright chilly out on the water!
