Dan was incredible to work with. Professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. Three years ago our family was struggling with some big issues and the future of our (then) 14-year-old daughter was at stake. Dan guided us through an adversarial special education process and I can honestly say he helped save my daughter's life. Any family trying to navigate the special education system alone is at a marked disadvantage; having Dan on our side helped us level the playing field and get fair resolution of our conflict. Our daughter is now a high school senior with multiple college acceptances; she simply wouldn't be where she is today without Dan's help. The special education system is heavily weighted toward the needs of school systems, not individual children. If you think you may need a special education attorney, you probably do. And there is none better than Dan.
Retaining Dan was the single best decision my wife and I made to safeguard our child’s future. He listened like a close friend, studied every aspect of our case, and authored a detailed course of action that was 100% spot on. Thanks to Dan’s ability to negotiate with our school system, our son is confident, engaged and learning. His fun-loving summertime demeanor once lost for years is present again year round. We are fully confident our son will graduate from high school, attend college and pursue a fulfilling career. For the first time in years, I speak positively about our school system and even more positively about the legal profession. I am happy to talk to anyone on the bubble about retaining Dan; he has my number. Also, from our experience (and others may disagree), an Advocate is no substitute for a reasonably priced attorney like Dan. 5 stars out of 5.
We contacted Dan to help us obtain an Out of District placement for our 7th grade son. Dan's reputation and experience made this process extremely smooth. We discovered that our Special Ed. Administrator had worked with Dan in a prior setting and had great respect for his judgement, expertise and integrity. Dan was always responsive in taking our calls, patient in hearing the details of our story, and very conscientious and efficient in billing us only for the work that he thought was key to achieving our goal - it was a highly economical transaction!! I can't recommend Dan highly enough - he always responds to my calls within 24 hours and is generous with his time in terms of clarifying the issues at stake and strategizing on how to move forward in a diplomatic and effective fashion. You will find him extremely helpful and easy to work with!
