George Howell Coffee Co

Address: 310 School St, Acton, MA 01720, USA

Cafe Store

“Coffee roaster, not a cafe. If you actually care about beans, it's the best around. Their Jardin decaf is better than most other regular espresso beans. If you drown a latte in tons of syrup, then you probably won't be able to taste the espresso anyways, so chuckling at the "I prefer starbucks" comments. Try comparing espresso to espresso, you'll be shocked at how good George Howell is.”

Acton Coffee House

Address: 525 Massachusetts Ave #103, Acton, MA 01720, USA

“I love grabbing a cup of coffee at Acton Coffee. The folks behind the counter are cheerful and helpful. They've a great selection of coffees and teas, plus some really nice baked goods. On a cold winter's day it's always toasty warm and relaxed. My only (minor) complaint is that seating is limited -- probably to about 30 people -- which means you may have to order and leave. If nothing else it's a sign that I'm not the only one that likes the place. They do have free wifi and there's parking directly outside, or under the building they're located in. FYI, there's a Little Free Library about 100 yards to the left of the entrance (see my photo). So if you're looking for something to read you might find it there. It was put up by Unicorn Books, which is about 300 yards away from the Acton Coffee House, again over to the left as you're facing the coffee house.”

Dunkin'

Address: 315 Main St, Acton, MA 01720, USA

Bakery Cafe Restaurant Store

“Always has the biggest selection in the area, and has pretty good food, for a Dunkin' Donuts. Great location for students and people who work. Has many outlets for electronics, almost 1 for every table. It also contains an ATM for those who want to use it. It's also right next to a MA Rte 2 exit, so it has a very good location as well. It used to be located in a smaller area, but now has it's own parking and building, with about 15 spots. Some of the staff speaks in a very thick accent, and when - which happens barely ever - they do get a order wrong, they quickly fix it up to what it was supposed to be.”

“Every employee at this Dunkin Donuts works so hard. My coffee is always perfect. Excellent service, kindness and efficiency. I enjoy talking with all of them. Great work ethic and excellent customer service. This is my favorite Dunkin Donuts location. I always try to go here before I go to another location. Gio, Tang, and Carmen are just some of the amazing workers there but they are all good. I can obviously only speak to my own experience there but I read some of the negative reviews and I feel compelled to say that some of them just seem ridiculous. We live in a world of instant gratification. We are spoiled with all of our mobile/on the go ordering options these days. That being said, if you can order from home, avoid the lines, and all you have to do is walk in, grab your food and go and that STILL isn't good enough for you, then you are the problem. No one is perfect. No establishment is perfect. And while a place is as good as it's people, we are all human. Mistakes happen. Certainly nothing to call corporate over. People act like they can't be bothered to make eye contact or express their words face to face anymore. It's sad really. Additionally, many people do not understand how difficult it is to work in the customer service industry. Customer service workers get the brunt of everyone's anger or bad day, the attitude from any unsatisfied customer, the taunting and joking about how easy their job must be, and the constant pressure to hold their tongue when someone is very rude to them because they can't afford to lose their job over someone's stupidity. So it takes a lot to work in customer service. You have to be a pretty strong person to let everything from the day roll off your back, then do it all over again the next day. We need to have more patience and understanding. More kindness and respect for everyone. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Mine is asking everyone to cut these people some slack. If anything they need more staff and more pay. That seems fair for all their hard work. Thank you to all the DD staff at this location!”
