Fantastic! Amazing rock formations, huge strangely shaped boulders, caves, wetlands, scenic lake and woodland trails. A magical place.
Great spot for viewing the Heron rookery
I went hiking here yesterday (July 7, 2018) for the first time. It is a nice wildlife sanctuary with well marked trails. Trails lead you to Rocky Hill, the shores of Lower Long Pond, swampland where great blue herons nest and the Chestnut Oak Loop. I went along most of the trails and they were from easy to moderate in difficulty. The spot on the shore of the pond was a great place to have lunch. There is a small parking lot but beware of the entrance from the road, the driveway is steeply paved and lower clearance vehicles could scrape the bottom of their vehicles. Other than that I had a great experience going here.
